Load: One 6-round magazine
Additional Equipment: Pro Timer
Notes: This drill will concentrate on two critical skills: Sight picture and recoil mitigation. As the shot breaks, the shooter MUST be aware of the front sight's movement all the way through the recoil impulse. The second critical skill is recoil mitigation. This serves to get the front sight back into a proper sight picture as quickly as possible without "controlling" the gun. Both of these come together to make a highly efficient shot string without feeling rushed or worse ... not aiming the gun. Be safe and have fun!
Scoring: Hits inside the oval are counted, hits outside the oval are not. Record your time for all three iterations. Any iteration with a miss is a disqualified run. Your best time with no misses will serve as your score. Take a pick of your best group and tag us on Instagram or Facebook!
Beginner: Place a single TG5 target at 5 yards. With a holstered weapon, on the buzzer, engage the center (inverted triangle) of the TG5 with two rounds as accurately and quickly as you can.
Intermediate: Same as beginner. Place a single TG5 target at 7 yards.
Expert Distance: Place a single TG5 target at 7 yards. With a holstered weapon, on the buzzer, engage the center (inverted triangle) of the TG5 with two rounds as accurately and quickly as you can. Expert scoring differs. The only acceptable hit area is the inverted triangle at the center of the oval.
